Hope you all have a wonderfully happy 2019! I had a great start with my best buddies! We got together over delicious food and played board games! The Jolly Bear was a bit hard to wake up because we all know how much he loves sleeping! Mili was a bit sad because she always misses her parents during the holiday season. So we all tried to cheer her up with jokes and fun games!
You know what? I can’t imagine life without my friends. But to really enjoy the treasures of friendship, it’s most important to find genuine and true friends.
Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) always stressed the importance of good company. “The example of a good companion (friend) in comparison with a bad one is like that of one who sells musk and the blacksmith. From the first, you would either buy musk or enjoy its good smell, while from the blacksmith you would either get burned or smell a bad scent.”
Mawlana Jalaluddin Rumi left us some golden words of wisdom. “The company of the good will make you good, The company of the bad will make you bad, Those who are of the same nature will fly off together, Eagles soar with eagles, pigeons flutter with pigeons”.
I know it’s not always easy to make the right friends. So I thought I’d share some life lessons that have always helped me make great friends. Always look out for:
– Friends who don’t judge and criticize too much
– Friends who support and help each other.
– Friends who are never envious.
– Friends who are happy when we’re happy and sad when we’re sad.
– Friends who help keep us on the right track and away for bad influences.
So really. Making friends isn’t rocket science. Just remember some of the points I shared. And stick to the special people who speak to your heart. They ’re keepers!
